FieldScan launches: geospatial services for the built world
FieldScan launches
FieldScan LLC is open for business in San Diego. We’re a geospatial services company built for the Southern California AEC industry — architects, contractors, developers, and facility owners who need accurate field data and need it to actually fit their workflow.
What we do
FieldScan covers the full arc from raw capture to usable data:
- 3D laser scanning — survey-grade point clouds of existing conditions, accurate to within a few millimeters
- Scan-to-BIM — converting those point clouds into Revit models at the LOD your project needs
- Drone surveying — FAA Part 107 aerial mapping, inspection, and progress documentation
- Land surveying — boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, stamped through our licensed California PLS partner
- Facility document digitization and IDA — turning scattered building records into a structured, AI-searchable archive
Why we started
Too many projects still run on existing-conditions data that’s wrong. Original drawings that no longer match the building. Dimensions taken by hand and transcribed three times. As-builts that get discovered to be inaccurate exactly when it’s most expensive to find out — during construction.
The technology to fix that is mature and proven. What’s often missing is a partner who captures it correctly, delivers it in a format your team can actually use the next morning, and is honest about which method your project really needs rather than selling the most expensive one. That’s the gap FieldScan is built to fill.
Where we work
San Diego is home base, with fast mobilization across the county. We also serve North County Coastal — including Carlsbad — and reach Orange County and the Inland Empire on a scheduled basis. See where we work for details.
Let’s talk
If you’ve got a project — a renovation that needs verified as-builts, a site that needs mapping, a facility drowning in paper records — we’d like to hear about it. Get in touch and we’ll tell you exactly what to capture and in what order.
