FieldScan in Orange County

Orange County is FieldScan's northern service region — a large, dense market reached up the I-5 and I-405 from our San Diego base. Its building stock skews toward the commercial and institutional: the office and R&D corridors of Irvine and the Irvine Business Complex, the civic and healthcare density of Santa Ana, hospitality and entertainment infrastructure around Anaheim, and high-value coastal commercial and residential work in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. Because Orange County is a separate jurisdiction from San Diego, projects here run through OC's own municipal building and planning departments, each city with its own permit rhythms. Airspace is a real planning factor: John Wayne Airport sits in the middle of the county and several smaller fields surround it, so drone operations almost always require LAANC authorization, which we secure in advance. Given the distance from our base, Orange County work is typically scheduled rather than same-day, and we plan field days efficiently to make the travel worthwhile. The full FieldScan service range is available, and larger engagements that justify a planned mobilization are the best fit for this region.

FieldScan in Orange County

Orange County is FieldScan’s northern service region. We bring the same crews, equipment, and deliverables we run in San Diego up the I-5 and I-405 — on a scheduled basis that makes the most of each mobilization.

What we do in Orange County

A commercial and institutional market

Orange County’s building activity skews toward the kind of work where precise existing-conditions data matters most: the office and R&D corridors of Irvine and the Irvine Business Complex, civic and healthcare density in Santa Ana, hospitality and entertainment infrastructure around Anaheim, and high-value coastal projects in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.

Planning around distance and airspace

Because Orange County is farther from our base, we schedule field days rather than promising same-day mobilization, and we plan capture efficiently so a single trip covers the full scope. John Wayne Airport and surrounding fields mean drone work almost always needs LAANC authorization — arranged in advance. Each OC city runs its own building and planning department, so we confirm the specific jurisdiction’s requirements during scoping.
